Lexi Straight has had a long career in the long-term care sector. After earning an Accounting degree from Grand View University, Lexi was a Financial Consultant for over 40 skilled nursing facilities throughout Iowa. In 2019, Lexi felt a deeper calling to be more involved in the long-term care sector and joined the AIT program at Accura HealthCare where she went on to become a Licensed Administrator, overseeing multiple Accura locations throughout 2019 and 2020. Lexi made another move into a new role as Central Admissions Director of Accura HealthCare in 2020; responsible for developing and implementing key admissions processes, credentialing, and network development for over 22 locations. Since then, Lexi’s skill set and knowledge base in population health has shone through, and she was promoted to Senior Director of Population Health Management in 2022. Lexi has fully embraced the Accura values and mission, and has been a key leader in ensuring that our Accura locations continue to thrive while overcoming challenges and obstacles that they face on a daily basis. Lexi lives in the Des Moines area with her husband and their two dogs.

Kris Glaser joined the Accura HealthCare family in June 2022 with 16 years of finance and accounting experience, which includes 10 years in healthcare related organizations. Kris is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, where he received a degree in Transportation Management as well as gaining his accounting education and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Purdue University. Kris built a foundation of leadership through the military early in his career while also gaining more leadership skills in the private sector of transportation management before changing his career to finance and accounting.  Kris is a mission-driven leader and effective communicator with the ability to build and motivate high-performance teams.  He brings with him executive leadership experience with skills in accounting, budgeting, payroll, financial reporting, billing, and internal control. Kris is committed to continuing his leadership focus and contributing to the creation of strategic plans in support of Accura’ s mission and values. Kris lives in Polk City, Iowa with his wife and their son. Kris also has adult children that reside in Omaha, as well as stepchildren that attend the University of Iowa.  

Lindsey Lefkow began her journey serving the aging population of Iowa in 2005.  Over the last 15+ years, Lindsey has served in multiple long-term care nursing management roles. Most recently, Lindsey was named Senior Director of Infection Control & Quality Assurance at Accura HealthCare. Lindsey was an integral part of the COVID-19 pandemic response within all Accura locations; providing vital protective measures and processes to safeguard our most vulnerable generation as well as the nursing staff that were providing the specialized care. Lindsey has devoted her time and energy to providing essential infection prevention education to all staff members. Additionally, she has developed numerous protocols and processes to help ensure safety for all residents and staff.  Lindsey firmly believes in Accura’s mission to be partners in care and family for life.

Michelle came to Accura in September 2019 as the Director of Human Resources and was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources in November 2020. Michelle has over 20 years of Human Resources experience that spans many industries including sales, agriculture, human services including long term care. Michelle has a degree in Psychology from Morningside College plus has her professional certifications as SHRM- CP and HRCI PHR. Michelle has a human services heart that continues to draw her back into the field. Michelle's personal philosophy regarding HR as being an advocate, gatekeeper and resource as well as ensuring that her team is viewed as the friendly HR Department aligns very well with the Accura family culture. Michelle feels privileged to lead the HR team and serve our employees in direct reflection of our upside-down philosophy.

Kevin earned his law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. Since 2013, Kevin has been serving as in-house counsel in healthcare related organizations, including both nonprofit and private companies, and was excited to join the Accura team in 2019. He has embraced Accura’s Purpose, Mission, Values, and Vision and looks forward to building more relationships with the people in the Accura family.

Kevin lives in Ankeny, Iowa with his wife and three children.

Brady is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator who holds a BA in Health Services Management (2016) and a Master of Business Administration (2017), both from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. Brady got his start in the Long Term Care industry while working as an intern at Telligen QIN-QIO as an undergraduate. He went on to become the Director of Quality Improvement at a Nursing Facility before joining Accura HealthCare in 2016. Brady served as the Executive Director of the Knoxville and Pleasantville Facilities up until 2020. During his four years as Executive Director, Brady guided the facilities to improved quality of care; earning national quality awards from the American Healthcare Association. Brady was named Regional Vice President of Operations in 2020.

Megan Kleinsasser joined the Accura family in 2019 with over 15 years of healthcare experience. Megan is a graduate of Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota, where she received a degree in Health Services Administration as well as gaining her Master’s degree in Public Health & Human Service Administration. Megan realized early in her career that quality is the foundation for successful care delivery. Megan has gained experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, as well as home and community-based services. During her time as an Executive Director in Minnesota and South Dakota, Megan acquired the roles Regional Quality Specialist and Senior Executive Director. In 2016, Megan began serving on the South Dakota Healthcare Association Board of Directors.  She has also successfully written and received the Bronze and Silver Quality Awards.  Throughout her career, Megan has dedicated herself to bettering the lives of her staff and residents with a strong focus on quality and accountability. Megan is committed to continuing her focus and utilizing her expertise within the Accura family. Megan lives in South Dakota with her husband and their three children.

Peggy obtained her nursing degree and graduated with Honors from the Harvard Nursing Program at New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, Boston, Massachusetts. She has worked in Long Term Care and Assisted Living for the past 22 years. Peggy originally began her career as a Cardiovascular and Transplant Intensive Care Nurse and then changed her specialty to Geriatric Nursing when a family member required senior care. Peggy is committed to ensuring our seniors receive superior quality and person-centered care.

During her career she has achieved multiple nursing certifications: Assisted Living Manger Certification, Certified Dementia Trainer, Geriatric Nursing Certification, IV Certified, PICC Certified, ICD Coding Certification, RAC-C Certification, Trach and Vent Certification and ELNEC Certification. She also served as the Skilled Nursing Preceptor for Iowa in 1996, Education Committee Chair for the Iowa Assisted Living Association 2013-16, Board Member for the Iowa Assisted Living Association 2014-2015 and Education Committee Member for Leading Age Iowa 2016.

Peggy was the Editorial Assistant for the Journal of Gastroenterology for 5 years.

Mark Peterson began his career in healthcare in 2001. Since the beginning, he has recognized the importance of working as a team to provide excellent customer service and quality care. After receiving his degree in business, Mark became a licensed administrator in Utah. In 2006, Mark moved his family to Virginia and continued on his quest for excellence. Through his leadership and focus on quality, he and his team received several awards and recognitions. He was recognized twice by the American Health Care Association for their National Quality Award Program. In 2008, his facility received the D.A. Woody Brown Quality Award from the Virginia Health Care Association. He was honored to lead the team as they received 5 years of Outstanding Annual Survey Performance Awards from American HealthCare, as well as 5 President's Awards for Turn-Around Facility, Census Performance 3 times, and the most prestigious Presidential Award for Facility of the Year in 2009. Mark embraces the mission and values of Accura HealthCare.

A Moorhead, Minnesota native, Mike moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota in 2003 to attend Northern State University for a degree in Sports Marketing & Administration. Mike went on to become an Associate PGA Teaching Professional, the Men’s Head Golf Coach at Northern State University, and an Account Executive in radio. In 2015, Mike found his true calling in the healthcare industry as the Marketing Director for Aberdeen Health & Rehab.

Since 2017, Mike has taken on various regional marketing and business development roles while utilizing his expertise in marketing, leadership, communication, and analytics to better serve his communities throughout South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska. Mike joined the Accura family in January 2020 and has fully embraced Accura’s purpose, mission, values, and vision. Mike was named Vice President of Marketing & Communication in October 2020.

Mike now lives in the Urbandale, Iowa area with his wife of 9 years and their two sons.

Carey Robins has more than 20 years of quality centered care to the people of Iowa. In 1995, she completed her nursing degree and immediately developed a passion for working in the post-acute and long-term care profession while working on the floor providing direct care.

Her ways of providing compassionate, quality care and leading others were noticed, and within 6 years she began working in leading roles in nursing administration. Coaching and developing strategies are among her expertise.

Carey worked for American Health Care Management Services for 5 years before Accura HealthCare purchased them, and she was subsequently promoted to Director of Clinical Services. She has quickly become recognized across Iowa as a resource for quality metrics and clinical strategies. Carey lives in Osceola, IA with her husband of more than 20 years and their three children.

Andrea Kepple has worked in the finance and accounting field of post-acute healthcare since 1999. She received her degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa. She started with American Healthcare Associates (AHA) in 2001 as a financial consultant and in 2003 was promoted to Controller. In 2016 when Accura purchased AHA, Andrea was promoted to Director of Financial Services.

Her leadership and longevity have brought needed consistency and financial stability to the residents and employees of Accura HealthCare. Also, Andrea has provided financial direction to healthcare providers in Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, and Colorado.

As a native of Iowa, she is excited to be serving in a profession that cares for Iowans. Andrea has been married for more than 15 years and has two children, a son and daughter, that are the joys of her life.

Donnell joined Accura in 2019 bringing with her 30 years of Accounting leadership in the long-term care industry. Shortly after graduating from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, she accepted a role as Controller of an Iowa based non-profit organization that owns several continuing care retirement communities, as well as various community based services. That position provided her with an extensive background in financial statement reporting, cash management, and health care regulatory issues. Accura’s “Family for Life” culture and values led Donnell to make the change, and she looks forward to playing a role in the future of the Accura family.

Donnell is honored to lead a team of dedicated accounting and billing staff who strive to provide accurate and useful financial information on a timely basis to Accura’s leaders and partners. Donnell and her husband live in the Ankeny area and enjoy spending as much time as possible with family and friends. She has one son in the Des Moines area, and a daughter who has been working in Denver for the past 3 years.

Tom LeNeave brings over 35 years of experience in leadership and management. Tom uses his experiences from the Air Force, automotive industry, construction industry, and executive leadership positions to aid and promote the healthcare services of our company.

Tom earned a Bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Through projects and renovations, Tom oversees the continuous improvements of our facilities to provide a home-feel experience for our residents. He incorporates the newest and best means of software and information technology to provide exceptional healthcare services.

He believes people are the key to all great things achieved. Being in business with his brother and providing an excellent service to people has been a dream come true for him. Tom and his wife love living in Iowa, and they love seeing their 5 children and many grandchildren.

Lisa Toti has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, 15 of which have been in healthcare. As a graduate of the University of Virginia, Lisa began her career working in various industries including hospitality, banking, and manufacturing before joining the healthcare industry.

Since that time, she has worked with companies ranging from small, family-owned facilities to large national multi-facility providers. Over the years, Lisa has developed a strong understanding of the long-term care industry and its unique challenges. She realized the foundation of great care is the dedicated staff that works to make a difference in the lives of the patients, and she enjoys working to make a positive difference for them.

In 2018, Lisa and her family relocated from Virginia to Iowa. She lives in Clive with her husband and two children.

Ted LeNeave has been a leader in healthcare for more than 20 years. After receiving a degree in healthcare management, he started as a licensed administrator in post-acute care in Virginia. Ted has been privileged to Chair and /or serve on state and national boards as well as hold committee positions. In 2002, Ted was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to serve on the state's licensing board.

After chairing the Virginia Health Care Association, Ted received a Lifetime Achievement Award at age 39 in Virginia. He has also received one of the American Health Care Association's highest national awards, the Joe Warner Advocacy Award.

Ted served on the Board of Governors for the American Health Care Association in Washington, D.C. and currently chairs the Board of the Iowa Health Care Association. It has always been Ted's dream to own his own healthcare company, and he was excited to move to Iowa with his wife and 3 sons to start Accura HealthCare.
